Potty Training Books to Consider

Sometimes, parents need assistance when potty training their toddler. Luckily there are plenty of potty training books on shelves for you to consider. Not only can these books introduce you to toddler potty training, they can be useful as you're going through the process with your child. They make books for both kids and adults on this subject, so if your little one likes to read you should get them a good book on potty training they can enjoy on their level. In this article you will read a bit more about some top titles on training your toddler for the potty.

One title that is for parents is Stress-Free Potty Training: A Commonsense Guide to Finding the Right Approach for Your Child by Sara Au and Peter L. Stavinoha Ph.D. This book teaches all kinds of helpful information for parents, including how to take the stress out of the potty training process in a variety of ways. This book covers recognizing toddler readiness, dealing with slip ups and even different techniques for different personalities and temperaments.

Another popular book for parents is The No-Cry Potty Training Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Child Say Good-Bye to Diapers by Elizabeth Pantley. This book teaches ways to potty train your child without dealing with tantrums or tears. In general, many experts will agree that the process should be free from fits and tears, if your child is throwing tantrums they are probably not old enough to potty train. A few things you'll find in this particular book is how to set up a simple routine and motivate a reluctant child.

When it comes to books for children, there are a plethora of them out there. Many of them are geared towards either boys or girls, which can be helpful. Two examples include The Potty Book - For Girls by Alyssa Satin Capucilli and Dorothy Stott and My Big Boy Potty by Joanna Cole and Maxie Chambliss. There are also colorful 'Once Upon a Potty' books for boys and girls.

As you shop for potty training books, you may also want to check out a potty training DVD or two. Like books, these DVDs are made for both parents and kids. Some are for girls, some for boys and some for both. Information is your ally when it comes to the potty process. In addition to books and DVDs, it is wise to consult with your pediatrician before and during the training process for advice and helpful hints.
